In August 2000 two young journey men followed a holy hunch launched in Room 1228 of a Dallas hotel to start a resource ministry named Wayfarer Ministries, later to become Wayfarer. They started this resource ministry from the deep conviction that the status quo of Christian thinking and communication in the forms of writing and speaking needed a drastic overhaul, both in content and creativity. They felt that Christ had been lost in the religion of Christianity and that many of us inside the Christian message needed a radical reorientation to the life of Jesus – both to his purpose and to his way.

With these goals in mind, Wayfarer started its journey on a shoestring budget, heavily relying on the speaking and writing opportunities of Chad Norris and Dave Rhodes and their dreams and tenacious spirit, as well as the generosity of others. Today, however, Wayfarer has become much more. Now a team gathers together each day to design a variety of different collisions of creativity and content that help people rediscover Christ and their life in him.

As Wayfarer has aged, we have committed our organization to designing and delivering ever more thoughtful and creative resources and event atmospheres. We have also committed to developing strategic relationships both with other resource ministries as well as individual churches. We have also started key initiatives such as our resources storefront, Room 1228, and Wayfarer Camp at Anderson University. This new dynamic will help ministries all over the world benefit from the content and creativity of Wayfarer on an ever-increasing basis.
